State designated Health Information Exchange (HIE) aggregator focused on Prescription Drug Monitoring Program had a problem being able to efficiently onboard over 20,0000 new users to the HIE every year. Due to high turnover and temporary users, 8 staff would have to manually onboard new users constantly, which caused a huge burden on the user and the staff. They sought to find a way to quickly confirm the identity of employees, patients, and healthcare professionals accessing hospital systems, patient records, and healthcare administration databases. The patient’s right to privacy was also a concern, as sensitive electronic clinical information was being shared between disparate health information systems.
A white label version of RESILIANT ID APP allowed all users of the HIE database to onboard only once without a cumbersome process, and allowed them to be verified in all environments (on-premise, online, etc.) The Digital ID can be reuse without having to onboard again across all administrative applications, including billing, accounting, and all the Microsoft Office 365 protected environment.
Automated and one-time onboarding during enrollment process removes 8 people on payroll who used to do this manually. This all eliminates costly human data entry errors and the risk of liability linked to unauthorized or wrongful release of sensitive patient information to the wrong party. The entire HIE system is now protected and secure, as only those people who have been verified and authorized have access to it.
